i get so tired of hearing about diet soda "not making it better" its just to make it less bad, no one thinks they are negating a burger by drinking a diet soda. without even opening the "is diet really even better" debate, its simply someone making a less bad choice. like washing down a whole pizza you meant to save half of for tmw with a glass of water.
For me, it really depends on the soda. I always preferred diet Pepsi to regular Pepsi. Though, I usually don't drink soda (I do love rum and whiskey on the other hand).
For some people diet anything is bad, namely the glorified paint thinner they use as a 'sweetener' I for one tend to get weird headaches if I consume aspartame or most other sweeteners.
aspartame tastes so awful i don't understand why it became a thing. i don't like fake sweeteners for the simple fact it makes your body expect its getting real sugar while re-enforcing the whole craving for sugar to begin with, but that's part of why i tried to emphasize the notion of not really agreeing that diet is better.
The body can't metabolize it and some people can't eliminate it so it builds up and causes other problems, for me it causes atrocious 3 day migraines (I'm talking bad enough for an ER visit and morphine drip!) so the few things I do buy from the store half my time is spent reading labels and if it says anything but sugar I don't even open my wallet for it.
Especially since it started out as a laboratory mistake, and I don't believe it's a coincidence that diabetes cases skyrocketed after it was put on the market, that's like flipping a light switch on and saying that it's a coincidence that the room got brighter.
im gluten free because I will get sick if I eat it, and I can honestly it's very hard and expensive to sustain proper nutrition

I had to eat gluten free for 2 months while I was being tested for all these food intolerances. I lost like 10lbs, but I was sooo unhappy. I only ate fruit, veg, eggs, and meat. Found out I was lactose intolerant though, which is good
Not great, I kept getting stomachs aches all the time. My mom was also intolerant so she knew what it was when I got it. I was in Rome when I stopped eating wheat, so that was a problem
When people claim to lose wheight on a gluten free diet, its not from not having gluten, its because you avoid things with gluten in them, which also have carbs. Bread has gluten and carbs. When you stop eating bread, you lose a little weight because less carbs, not less gluten.
Also, i dont think i can afford to lose weight, and many people have the same problem (i recognise that overweightness is a common problem as well)
avoiding anything wil cause weight loss because simply worrying about what you makes you eat better in almost all categories, carbs, calories, salt etc etc etc its why even stupid diets work to a degree
Or unless you are celiac been GF is great for you. Think before you post!

That's the point of the post. If you don't have celiac disease, or something like it, it's not healthier. I know so many people who eat gluten free for "health" reasons and only 2 because they have celiac disease. I have an allergy to wheat and other grains so I don't eat bread and pasta, but it's not the gluten that makes me sick, it's the grains.
