Bullshit.
It's like calling police "public safety officers". No they're not. They're police. Stop giving them sweet names that may or may not be slightly more politically correct because some asshurt parent decides that "police" sounds too menacing or something. Or maybe they're called that to remind themselves that they serve the public. Bullshit. They're police. Not public safety officers. If a cop comes up to my car and says "roll down the window please I'm a public safety officer" I'm gonna sit there and find gay midget porn on my phone and hold it to my window until he calls himself a police officer.
Settle down Alice. The only places you are talking about are in major cities like NY and LA and anywhere in Texas. Most MHI's are small and regional and deal with non-violent offenders.
Dude, chill.
It's not called mental institution because now it's for people who have mental illnesses to get them fixed, rather than just labelling everyone crazy and giving them pills before locking them away forever.
Only if you make up some bullshit name for yourself that you're not. Police aren't here to keep us safe. They're here to enforce laws. They're paid to enforce laws. The "public safety" part is up to all of us humans; as people and entities within a community, it's EVERYONE'S responsibility to keep things safe.
I would love to go to one to calm down and figure myself out but then I would get behind in school which would stress me out even more and just make it worse
You would not. You don't get to choose roommates. They all snore. They feed you food that you would never choose. And you have to listen to everybody else's problems.
And ? I'd like to be somewhere where I can get the help I actually need rather than everyone I go to telling me just to go get some pills from a doctor and stop whining. Id deal with all that rather than people telling me my illnesses and disorders are just inconvenient for them.
Maybe it'd be different at your rehab. Mine was tell all these strangers your issues. Listen to all these strangers issues. Go see the Dr. Go see the Psych. Talk about your issues in front of these strangers. Do this homework. Enjoy your 12 step meeting. ....Rinse .Repeat.
This is... Amazing. The ill, the suffering, the different--they are not freaks, or weirdos, or museum displays of what you shouldn't do: they are people. And what's more, they are amazing people! They take the hardships they have gone through, and translate them into something beautiful like hope or art or compassion... They try to help others, simply because they do not wish to see anyone else suffer the way they have. Fantastic! :)
Yeah. But some of them are total nutters that would kill you, your mother and then try to combine both skins into one person. So. Roll the dice. You never know.
Well, yeah, there are those, but I was talking about... You know... The non-psychotic ones... As in the ones who are at a mental health/rehab center, not a "mental health institution"...
Having been in a "general" rehab, I can bet at least one of the 20 of us will be the person that"was such a quiet person when we saw them." Mental health/rehab centers(Not counting those daycares for the celebs) are in fact mental health institutions.
Yeah, yeah, mental cases often have good qualities, Jesus. I think you're mental because I know you're mental because you're in a mental hospital, and I don't know you, so I don't know anything else about about you. It's not complicated.
Fabricated nonsense that attempts to romanticize serious illnesses by focusing on brief, often passing, instances when those illness aren't overwhelming the person suffering.
I don't think its trying to romanticize anything, I think its trying to call attention to the fact that mental patients are people with skills sand feelings and all that shit, not just crazy people.
Guest, it's just like when people show the good side of Muslims and cops and what have you
They want to get rid of the stereotypes
Each person experiences their mental illness differently and have different levels of severity.
If you only show the bad sides of mental illness it would be A LOT harder for us to get jobs and make relationships because people will think we're * insert whatever illness here * on the high end 24/7
Jesus Christ man stuff that dick back up your ass.
It's a helluva lot better than narrating what you're doing.
I look at the clock wondering how long I can continue browsing FS before I have to go to class
I also wonder why people are so intent on debunking religion
*drinks tea*
*but it's not my problem*
Don't concern yourself too much with 'ol cringey, here. I said something he didn't appreciate weeks ago, and now he's my latest stalker of the user variety. If I said his own mother was a saint, he'd shit all over her, too, just to spite me.
[Triggering intensifies]

Into the trash it goes
*glances around for those who will back me up*
