I remember in 10th grade we had to do a short story so I worked my but off and didn't realize that I wrote 13 pages until 6 am. I didn't get any sleep so I felt groggy the whole day. Thankfully the teachers understood and let me sleep during class.
I mean if people were going to sleep in class because they had worked as hard as they could all night I would agree, but in reality its because they stay on fun substance until 2 in the morning then start their homework
Really? No kids don't fall asleep in school because they're somehow being "overworked." No, they usually fall asleep because they chose not to go to bed early enough the previous day.
There are two kinds of people:
*does not go to bed early because he watches Tv or Netflix and falls asleep in class
*studyes all night because there it just so much homework and falls asleep in class
You cant judge before you dont know the whole story
@undercoverk Um no, if you take responsibility for it, and actually do it when you have time rather than procrastinating you will have plenty of time to do it and still be able to sleep.

@felixo77 Um...responsibility won't magically give you extra time :/
Just how much homework do you get
There are also clubs and activities that people do after school and they can take up time.
Even schools getting out late. Like my new school is going to be getting out at 4 PM
That plus any clubs people decide to do is time consuming and you get home late, which doesn't leave much time to do homework in a timely fashion, provided that you eat something because you haven't eaten since lunch, which was way previous and school lunches aren't very filling, nor are they very good.
In High School, my school got out at 6:30pm. That's because of the weird schedule going on, and the programs they had. Which is the main reason we had classes on Saturday morning too. Depending in whatever program you were, you could be in school since 9am or since 11am. And there were, like 2 or 3 months you had to arrive at school at 7am because to graduate you had to do some social work thing. So the hours in the morning we didn't have class were spent helping the teachers that taught the morning classes (those students would usually stay there from 6:30am to 2pm or 3, depending if they were in some of those athletic teams). Now tell me when we were going to find time to do all our shit and get decent amount of sleep.
.
And don't get me started about College/University
Teachers have al the lessons in their heads because they work in a school for soo long that every year is the same for them. They just have to grade tests

It's not that easy. My mom is a preschool teacher and she works her ass off doing all the stupid extra stuff they have to do. Just because they have a lesson plan doesn't mean they don't have to work hard.
Probably got downvoted by all the whiny highschoolers.
Teachers worked hard to get where they are at. They went to college and got a degree, it's disrespectful to sleep in class when they dont get to. Usually they have a family and believe it or not, a life outside of teaching. They have to grade papers and make lesson plans and keep themselves organized while usually also taking care of a family.
And students don't have lives outside of school? You have absolutely no idea what's going on in a teenager's life, so to automatically assume that every student who falls alseep in class is lazy, is both ignorant and inconsiderate (for lack of a better word). That's probably why you were downvoted.
I made it through high school. Im in college, paying 525 a month in bills and still have money to spend on other stuff, taking 16 credit hours, AND still manage to have a social life and keep good grades WHILE STILL not falling asleep in my professor's classes because that is very disrespectful.
One of my friends got a detention for falling asleep in class. Her mother died of cancer recently. Shes suffering severe anorexia, depression which was there before the cancer but is now a lot worse. She had to quit dancing and with it her dream of becoming a professional because she's so stressed with everything and has no bone density because of the anorexia so her body can't keep up with the physical demands. It's recently come out that her uncle molested her s a child and she tried really hard to stay on top of things and is constantly studying and admitted to me that she can't control anything else in her life so at least she can control her weight and grades. This means shes up all night studying so falling alseep - regardless of when was a good thing which she shouldn't have been punished for.
I'm with u Morgan. The kids that fall asleep in my classes ARE the laziest ones who never do their homework but still have time to ride their fourwheelers. Also teachers do not just grade tests they actually have to come up with lessons themselves, future activities, and a variety of other things.
A classmate was falling asleep in class once. Why? Because, in order to all the stuff we had to do, he decided to start camping in a student lounge we have at our class/department building. He brought his sleeping bag, a change of clothes, and all the books/materials needed to study/do-our-shit. He would do this twice a week. How do I know? Because once I stayed late and almost gave me a scare when I was walking by that particular room, and saw all the stuff he had in a corner. He said he didn't have time to go back home and came back to school, and still finish everything on time.
A friend in another department also said something similar, that students would camp out in the couches and even stay in the building for days before actually going home.
So no, don't say all the people that are almost falling asleep is because they are the laziest people ever, while some might be, not every case is the same
