Yep I milk 290 twice a day, been doing so for about 17 years or so, its a lot of work but I'm my own boss so no crap to put up with except for what the animals drop.
Yep it pretty much consumes my day, it usually takes about four to five hours each 'shift' but I'm also in the process of downsizing the herd by about half I did have over 300 but one person doing all of that work is nearly impossible.
I tried that once, I'm still fixing what they did to my guest house. Sorry but no. If you really want to get into farming its not difficult just slot of hard work and somewhat expensive if you get into new equipment (which can cost more than some houses!) start small and work your way up, you younger kids have a great advantage I didn't have when I was first starting out, the internet and hundreds of sites full of great information on farming and animals. And you don't need 200 acres of land to be a good farm I've seen successful farms on 10 acres just make sure to follow local laws, people aren't always friendly towards the farmers even if they put milk in their fridge and beef on the table.
dam i never they where farmers on Funsubstance
