They accept it, but it's still technically against the bible. I'm not dissing it. My parents are divorced for a very good reason. Im just pointing out that they're being hypocritical.
Not all churches, mind you. Please don't stereotype. That couple is hypocritical, not the entire church. Now it's against my religion to agree with gay marriage, but it's not against my religion to allow it. I wouldn't condemn them either as a true Christian. Any Christian who does condemn homosexuals or anybody at all is not living a very Christian life.
"can be" is clearly a "not all" phrase, and thus not stereotyping. "chicken can be deep fried" clearly indicates it something that can be done, not that all chicken IS deep fried
Correct, thank you.
Fun fact: when I was a kid I really got into religion, much to my heathen parent's surprise, I read the bible numerous times, I read (a bad translation of) the Quran, I read a lot of jewish scripture, inspired by a teacher. Only to find that the closer a church sticked to some very old script, the more they spooked me out, and the less they sticked to it, the less I understood, why they called themselves christians, muslims or jews anyway. That would basically end up with something like today's church of england, which isn't actually a church but a very low-threshold social club, that would help me with the answers a young person may have as much as a visit with Tesco (or Walmart, for that matter), or a soccer club, you get my drift.
if you go find teh actual article, they intend to live together unmarried, but the law there requires you to live apart like 6 months first sooo they get denied
They actually interviewed the husband on The Project. He said the reasoning behind it wasn't because they were against gay marriage, but they believed that it would be a "violation of the contract" (i.e. the marriage between a man and a woman). He's full of horse shit.
all the people against gay marriage are starting to say shit like "its not that im against the gays getting married its just that..." its like anyone who is against the tides.. "I'm not anti vaccine BUT.." "im not transphobic i just think that..." "i'm not against feeding poor children but what about.."
That's my exact feelings, I'm not going marry anyone but I'm not going to start crashing random local weddings because I personally have no desire to marry.
I know you didn't mean the church by "they", I just couldn't let this pass.
