True. Cunt is a pretty tame word here. More of a filler word than anything.

So cunt is basically like how we use fuck as filler in the states

Yeah but more objective. "Whats that cunt's name again? " or " he's a good cunt"

Who "invented" the word? If you look it up it gives you the pronunciation. I actually looked up the pronuciation and not going by how ive heard it said.

Well that way is pronounced wrong. No one ever pronounces twat as 'twaught'. It's tw-at like bat (as wiggleworm29 said). Also, in Easy A, the protagonist said "think British" when asking her parents to guess the word she used (although she pronounced it twot. British people always pronounce twat as 'tw-at'. I'm not trying to start an argument i'm just telling you the correct pronunciation.

But how do you know that is the correct pronunciation other than hearing it said that way. Just because you prefer one way doesnt mean the other is wrong there can be two ways to pronounce it.

Because it's a British word? And Idc if Americans pronounce it twot, it just makes me cringe because it sounds so incorrect

Ive actually never heard an American say twat only cunt
deleted

Actually the origin of twat is unknown so you cant really say its a british word although they probably use it more. And just like you im not trying to argue or say youre incorrect. There are many words that have more than one pronunciation. I dont really use the word so twat is just as fine as twot to me
