In this case, doesn't it? You can't live that long and not be involved in some sort of nearly fatal accident if you want to have a life. And even if I was biologically immortal and not invincible, once I've outlived my grandchildren I'd enlist for the most dangerous job in the military so that some poor sap who signed an open contract doesn't have to get dragged out there.
