well hes done a lot more then just disapprove of illegal immigration to create the idea that hes racist, but to be fair, pretty much all racists do disapprove of illegal immigration. i am sure theres an exception, but i never met one.
I agree that he's proven himself to be a racist.
However, just because all racists disapprove of illegal immigration, that doesn't mean that everyone who disapproves of illegal immigration is a racist. Illegal immigration is a genuinely important topic because it is wreaking havoc on the economies and safety of the border states (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, SoCal). Most people who treat it as just a racism issue are not from those areas and don't really know what they're talking about.
