Let's name them...
Jackie
Taylor (I'm pretty sure this is neutral but I've only met female Taylors)

Oh well in any case there're also those idiot parents who name their kid a name opposite their gender, like naming a guy "Krystal" or something like that. Poor guy'll be made fun of for a long time.
But why do you have to identify as a gender? I am not mocking just asking. Why not just act how you want to and stay out of the womens bathroom if you have a penis?
my honest opinion is that 'identifying' as a different gender is dumb, becuse it's something you're born with, and something that people just have to accept. if i went around 'identifying' as a reptilliane overlord, instead of a human, and kept talking about it, wouldnt you be pissed off?
Thepotatoshaveeyes, how I understand it is these individuals feel "trapped" in the wrong skin and therefore want to switch genders, though I have not experienced this feeling myself it seems a very real problem for some individuals. That's how I see it, anyways. I'll never know what it's truly like unless I go though it myself, so I'm kinda on the outside looking in. I suppose some do not speak out about it in fear of being ostracized, but some really need to be recognized as the other gender in order to feel comfortable.

So its a harmful mental condition? Like how diabetics need insulin to live, trans people need to use the opposite sexes bathroom and have it on their ID to feel comfortable?

You could argue that all names are gender neutral, that names have nothing to do with who you are, and that anon is actually being sexist for saying otherwise. (If you really want to stoop to that level of bickering, that is)
if you are the sort who would get mad at a person for giving their kid a gendered name, then i would think you are also the sort who should embrace names not limiting gender.
No not technically. In the simplest terms sex is bioligical. What you were at birth. Gender is what you feel you are. Gender is mental. What ningo said.
From what I've learned on my sociology class(I'm in college btw), gender is how society classify people. It makes sense to put people together based on similar traits. One of the most obvious ways of classification is by gender.
I'm 15 and I've never seen, met or heard about a person who is not cis.Is gender identity such a big deal in America and some other powerful countries or what?

I dont know, whenever I ask about it I get downvoted.
Songofthewhitestag? Also yeah Bruce(Cait)and some others I know that. What I meant more is people in real life who aren't celebrities.People like your neighbours, classmates and generally people from your area where you live.
Neither have I but that's probably just because there aren't that many. Not enough people are brave enough to go through with it or just don't have the money. Plus, like pebble said, they don't broadcast it. They'd probably only tell you if it came up in conversation, in the kinda unlikely event you were talking to one.
a couple people i went to school with transitioned... and i have friends with kids who are... and my socialcircle is pretty small, so i think it happens more than people realize.
I have a friend with a gender neutral name (unfortunately for him, the name is mostly used for girls while he's a guy, but in its root it's gender neutral) and he's one of the manliest guys I know. Of course that is only my experience and there can be hundreds of cases that show the opposite, but I think that a name is not a determining factor in one's gender identity or personality.
Besides, changing it is not even that hard. Hell, you could change your name to Princess Consuela Bananahammock if you wanted to, and nobody could tell you a thing!
In English there are a couple of variations of the name like Nicole, Nicholas etc but in my language there's only one gender neutral name and it's Nikola.
The only reason I HATE things like this is because I'm constantly told I should kill myself or I'm a bigot, I'm a stupid bitch for being happy as a female through and through. Born one, happy as one, will stay one. Why is that bad thing??????
I'm not quite sure if that's related to the topic at hand?
I think the point here is that we should make fun of those who think they can change a creature's gender simply by calling them something else.
The post thing states that giving your child a "gender specific" name is fucked up, since they should be able to choose. I'm told that I shouldn't enjoy being what I was born as, as I didn't "choose" to be this way..
I'm a girl? My name is Kylie.. I never once said I had a "manly" name. I don't believe in "gender specific" names. If you're a girl and your name is Drake, whoop de fuckin doo, you're still a girl. Your name does not define who you are, and it never will be able to.

Plus even if you have a name like abigale you can go by abby or gale, Names can almost always be altered to suit your prefered gender
Do you have two X chromosomes? Then you're a girl. An X and a Y? You're a boy. Gender is science, not psychology. If you're a girl who feels more like a boy, that's fine, do boy things. Vice versa is okay too. But you're born being a certain gender, and you get what you get. It's just your choice what to do with what you're given, so make the most of it :)
Are you guys serious? What's transphobic about this? I see nothing that is directed towards trans people, and frankly, I think you're just trying to stir up shit.

S\He is saying that him saying stfu in response to the complaint is transphobic.
No. The comments in this post are the transphobic part. We know the post itself isnt. The constant "your genitals determine your gender" comments. The refusing ti accept that people can be anything other than a man or a women. The constant comments saying if you have this youre a guy, if you have this you're a woman thats it. Thats the transphobia we were talking about.
So if I think I'm a flying squirrel then I'm a squirrel but if I have the physical appearance of a gorrilla I'm still considered a flying squirrel because that is what I think I am?

Just act how you want, unless you get a sex change you are still going to have a dick, dont say you're a woman and try to use the womens bathroom just because you like pink and wearing dresses.
Just because you have a dick doesnt make you a man. You know. You arent going to listen. You're going to continue to misgender people causing their dysphoria to rise. Which can lead to a whole host of mental and physical problems. So I'm done.
I think they're not answering because you don't deserve an answer.

I have asked nicely before, I said " I do not mean any disrespect, but why do you need to identify as the opposite sex?" And all I have gotten are downvotes, they might as well call me cis scum.

You see those posts recently about playing chess with a pigeon? That's what is happening here. We won the argument, but you just knock down all the pieces crap on the board and strut around like you won.
Sure you might've said that... But you also said "dont say you're a woman and try to use the womens bathroom just because you like pink and wearing dresses." which is pretty damn disrespectful. People want to identify as another sex because that's who they feel they are. Usually saying they feel uncomfortable or that they're lying to themselves/others by pretending to be this other person. The transformation of becoming another gender can be life changing for some people, probably life saving in some cases.

There are people who want to lose limbs for the exact same reason.
There's no winning... You're questioning why trans people do what they do to a fifteen year old cisgender girl. I'm just sticking up for them because they have a right to change their sex and be who they are. I really don't understand what the loosing limbs thing has to do with anything but to be honest I don't care at all.

What the losing limbs thing has to do with it is that there are "transabled" people. Look it up, they cut off limbs and such for the exact same reason trans people change gender.
I'm so glad to know that the only thing you care about is winning an argument. Miniegg is completely right, you don't deserve a response, given your recent and incredibly disrespectful comments and replies. Congrats, you asked nicely once. Why don't you try to keep that up instead of mocking people and telling those who give you perfectly polite and reasonable responses to "shut the fuck up."

Okay, you shall have your good riddance, I will sort things out and leave this account. But you wont know who I will next be.
your sex and your gender are two different things. your sex is what frick frack is there, your gender is your mentality - girl/boy. As more people in the world stick to the gender associated with their sex, names given to them have become 'girl' names or 'boy' names. Name your kid whatever you want, they can be a girl or boy or they want. Personally, if i have a kid it will be called flamingola mcdiddly

Daisy is most definitely a female name.
