To be fair, the 911 question is a valid question, assuming one was born after, on, or shortly before 2001.
I don't think it would be all that unreasonable to assume the Titanic was just movie. It's not something that gets talked about much these days.
The Benjamin Franklin thing was a bit of a shock to me too.
The tire rotation thing is an acceptable reaction for a lay man.
It's a relatively technical aspect of vehicle maintenance. It wouldn't occur to someone simply from owning or being around cars. If you're not taught about it, you likely wouldn't know of it, and there are a lot of people with little to no personal knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
The only reason I know is because I read literally anything I could get my hands on up to about 10 years old. I think I was around 7 when I got my hands on some form of auto mechanic book and I was browsing the pictures and the tire rotating is the one thing that's stuck with me to this day.
i mean i don't expect people to how *how* to do it, but it seems like something you learn about *needing* to be done just by being exposed to the world, but then i'm someone who was judging a man really hard when i saw he called a tow truck to change his tire, as in switch it with the full sized spare he had in his trunk.
Different life experience, I guess. My view might be a little skewed as well, seeing as I took automotive mechanics courses in high school, and my Mom's boyfriend is a car guy.
"he called a tow truck to change his tire"
lol
i mean, when i was a teen, to earn a merit badge we had a little course on oil changes and changing a tire, but that was my only exposure outside of just... hearing people talk and seeing signs that taught me that "rotating tires" was one of those things you needed to do to your car... and tyler, i am going to try really really hard not to judge you for that statement. if you ever do that, just know the fat girl with a big bun staring at you like you got two heads in the parking lot, is me.
but then i am also super cheap so i try really hard to learn basic things, like about my car and household issues and everything, because seriously wtf the prices they charge to do things you can do in 10 minutes is robbery and even now that i make a decent living it'll be a cold day in hell before i pay someone $15 to plug a nail hole in my tire.
I have literally no interest in how cars work or how to maintain them besides "don't treat them like shit and if it feels like shit take it to someone who knows their shit and pay some shit to have them fix your shit".
I'm more like the kind of person who wants to know the most effective way to destroy a car without any collateral damage.
yeah but knowing a little about your car will help you not treat it like shit.. and it will help you know whether that person you brought it to is a shit telling you shit or not, like just last month when i took it to pep boys they tried to take me for a ride, to the tune of $1200, but since i know a tiny bit about my car and how the basics work i knew they were full of shit and got the appropriate parts of my brakes fixed for about $300
friends come and go. i had car people for years, am glad i paid a little attention, its why i knew i was getting lied to about my brakes. i'm not saying take some intensive class on cars, but i am saying, pay a little attention to what happens to your car, ask a couple questions.
The tires need to be switched around on the car to promote even wearing. As in front left goes front right, front right goes back left, back left goes back right, and back right goes front left. The car naturally weighs differently on the different corners and has its own unique wear pattern due to how you treat the car and whatnot so rotating them allows the tires a longer life.
its a little more complicated than that if you have certain kinds of tires you have to rotate differently, but most sites have charts and your owners manual will tell you which manner you are supposed to rotate

....
Oke.

that's what I'd do
