There are tons of guys wearing makeup at my school and, even if I don't really talk to them because most of my friends are girls, no one makes fun of them but rather ask them how they did that nicely done eyebrow and more
some women dont wear makeup...
and theres nothing wrong with wearing makeup, or not wearing makeup, in terms of girls.
however guys think its not "manly" if you wear makeup.
Those people are called shallow fucks and you'd want nothing to do with them. I mean, of course, a person should look decent, but more in the sense of being healthy looking - not overweight, at least a bit athletic, not addicted to anything, getting enough sleep...because all these also reflect on your face, and if you're healthy, you'll always be at least slightly above average, unless your face actually looks disfigured, in which case my condolences.
Oh no, you can put on make-up, mean while all women (regardless of age, economic status and marital status) are expected to make up their face, stay in shape, be attractive even when pregnant, keep up with rapidly changing fashions, dress sexy, but not too sexy...
Don't get me wrong, gender roles can be harmful to men, but pick your freakin battles.
1. not all women wear makeup, and in fact, most girls I am around alot dont.
2. why do women feel like they HAVE to look absolutely the most SEXY freaking thing in the known universe? most girls who do that end up with shallow people who all they care about it looks.
3. on the flipside of 2, almost all men are expected to have:
muscle
abs
look good/sexy
not have an annoying voice (yes many girls dont date because of this dont try and argue)
not that women dont have it hard, but its not exactly easy life for guys, at all...
Oh, please. I didn't wear makeup in high school and people assumed I was lesbian. Girls wear makeup to A) send a specific message about what social group they belong to and B) avoid being picked on constantly. Since there was no makeup on EARTH that was covering that case of acne, and the cheap makeup I could afford made it so much worse, I figured being mistaken for a lesbian for eight years... not the worst possible thing.
And seriously, if "all girls" expect you to have muscles/be good-looking, I'm pretty sure you're only looking at a very specific social group of girls, cause none of the ones I hung out with in high school (except my best friend's dates, but that was because he had awful taste in women sometimes) were much pickier than "not a complete jackass."
