Yeah but if that happened we'd be on multiple entirely different planets, so even the worst plague or war wouldn't kill us all unless we found a way and for some reason blew up the entirety of every planet with humans
Mass extinction events seem to happen about every 100k years IIRC. Feel free to correct that figure, as I'm not so confident on my recall of the number.
Well, you're not entirely wrong, it just depends on the scale you're using. I think that for the smaller and/or more localized ELEs, a rough 100k figure is probably about right.

The "Big" ones however, seem to happen every ~27 million years. Then there's the five planet killers. Those could be said to be on a very rough ~100 million year +/- a fair chunk time scale.
