No disrespect meant...really, but teenagers have been saying this for thousands of years and adults have been saying what they say for thousands of years. It's how the world is run.

Women also had no power in the majority of the world, and non-whites were looked down upon. That changed, so why can't anything else?

because one is about human nature and the other is about lack of civil liberties. Teenagers have thought adults were the ruination of society for thousands of years; and adults have thought teenagers were idiots for thousands of years. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.
Earn respect.
Every generation has to try to clean up the mess made in the past, and every generation will leave behind a mess for their kids to clean up.
This is because actions have consequences.
You are pessimistic and disrespectful because you refuse to accept that adults have more important things to do than appease you.
