because we wouldn't notice any of those effects if only for five seconds, and it doesn't say 5 seconds

My environmental management class watched a documentary on Earth's evolution (I think it was history channel) and according to this video, before humans, animal life was on and off because the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere wasn't constant. Anyway, the animals that were huge due to the massive amount of oxygen at some point
So we should start working on increasing the oxygen in the atmosphere to double it current size. I'm cool with the giant bugs, plus I think it'd make the world just a little bit more interesting.
If the earth lost all its oxygen, the sunburn part is true because the ozone layer is made of oxygen (O3)
There also would be no more water or anything that contains the element oxygen for that matter because everything containing it would change in less than a second once removed (eg. All earth's water would become hydrogen)
Also, humans and animals would die because they'd have no oxygen in their blood, brain or lungs
So yeah, I think 5 seconds is more than enough time to cause a lot of shit...
Here is another ignorant guest. Ill explain. Basically, it doesnt just mean oxygen in the air. It means ALL oxygen atoms. Things like the earths crust and oceans and sugar and alot of things would just stop existing

Cons- everything else
...oh gosh giant bees i don't want more oxygen
