Certainly enough to know what the cop did is not funny and is in poor taste. It shows me that he has a lack of respect for his firearm, the public in general and an utter lack of dicipline.
If it weren't for the abundance of "bad cops" in the news, I would find the story a bit hard to believe.
Yeah, probably in bad taste, but it was done with good intentions. He was attempting to cheer someone up who was clearly having a bad day. I appreciate the attempt, even if it wasn't the classiest way to do it.
My unit had tamper tape put on the holster when you go on duty. Unholstering required a write up/explanation, even the bullets were checked to see if they got chambered.
