And the random pains you feel are the injuries your other souls sustained in past lives.

But that's not what schizophrenia means

True, they're really talking more about intrusive thoughts, which a LOT more people have than schizophrenia. It's just really rare for someone to have it severely.

I thought they were talking about split/multiple personality? Although I don't think that's a form of schizophrenia.

They're *saying* Dissociative Identity Disorder, but they're *talking about* intrusive thoughts - those random thoughts that are almost audible in your head that you have no idea where the hell they come from. A large number of people have minor cases - just the occasional one, not very insistent - but it can be debilitating if the subject matter is unpleasant enough or if the thoughts are frequent enough.

Paranoid schizophrenic here-- most schizophrenics I know only hear one voice, not multiple. Mine for instance sounds something like my grandfather's voice.

"What's Left of Me" by Kat Zang has a similar plot line. Two souls inhabit every body at birth, but eventually the dominant soul will take control while the weaker one just fades away. It isn't an amazing book, but it is definitely interesting to read. :)

And what if people with Anxiety don't have an assertive soul either, but none of them are fighting to take over

I.E., they don't have ANY assertive souls?
