It's insufferable. I don't understand why I do it

Ooh. I've been doing that since I was a kid. Just because I already deal with enough awkwardness in real life, I don't consider it entertainment.

There are some shows I can't even get through, like, ten minutes of. I understand that some people find awkwardness funny, but it's just.... not for me.

And in books when (it's usually always the girl) the MC absolutely embarrasses themselves in front of everyone and I'm like "Ugh nooo not another one of these."

I only do it when watching with one other person. It's weird if I am alone I cringe or look away. If there is more than one person I yell idiot or whatever at the screen. But when I am watching it with only one person I change the channel or fast forward.

I cannot watch any movie with Don Knotts (especially Incredible Mister Limpet) for that reason. I physically shrink away.

Agreed. He was awkward enough already. I've seen every damn episode of Andy Griffith at least five times.

My ex-fiance loved that show and afraid to say this, but Gomer Pyle as well. For almost a decade, I sat through all of it.

Holy shitnuggets. I can't believe I am not the only one that does this. It happens to me all the time, that I have to cover my ears and scream like a child so I don't have to listen to it. It just bothers me so much and I don't want to deal with it.

I can't even read about awkward situations in books, I feel like it's happening to me personally

This is more relatable than I wish it was.
