Okay I've seen this post multiple times and it is so stupid. Monopoly was a game invented to show to the downfalls of capitalism where the rich create a MONOPOLY, you know because the game is won when everyone else loses their money and property but one. Luxury tax is in there to show that even things like taxation on the rich doesn't stop the rich to obtain and keep all of the power. And you can PAY TO GET OUT OF JAIL in the game. If that doesn't say power to the rich then what the hell does. I certainly don't believe in the anti-capilist sentiment in either the original purpose of the game or this dumb as shit tweet trying to critique something they don't even understand. Like, do you know how metaphors work? But anyway please tell everyone to spread the word and stop posting this shit because it doesn't even make sense.

in the past people were more able to abuse their wealth. there was even less regulation on what the rich should do. stop trying to be edgy and pay attention in your middle school history class

I thought they were phased out (in America) in 2002

Luxury tax in the states was enacted in 1991 but was dissolved in 1993 after it was found that the tax didn't yield much income and hurt business.
