I don't think that's the case. It's too simple of an explanation

I read an article on why she would be Obi Wan's grand daughter. It's not impossible and it would be so satisfying, wouldn't it? For Luke to be asked to join the fray and given his father's lightsaber again by a Kenobi, just like it was the first time on Tatooine

I think it actually is both. She is Luke's daughter and Obi-Wan's granddaughter. Luke married Obi-Wan's daughter. But that is absolutely a guess. But it allows you to do the obvious choice and still have a pretty awesome reveal that won't be seen from a mile away.

I'm pretty sure it's his daughter, but I would love for a better, more surprising story.

Jedi's don't have kids. My guess is Anikin's mom had another child after Ani went off with Obi Wan. Anikin is her great uncle.

Actually I'm fairly certain that would make her Anakins sister. Unless you are saying that Anakins mom had a kid who had a kid and that kid was Rey

Actually, Luke Skywalker's daughters name is LOREYNA... So yeah, she's his daughter.

Maybe she's Luke's daughter but he never knew about her.

The lightsaber picked her over kylo. She's got to be connected somehow. Maybe she was his padawan when kylo attacked the school and he thought she was dead.

No because they seem to be close in age. Kylo would have had to have killed everyone at like 12 years old for her to be young enough to not remember being trained as a jedi

They may look close in age but Hollywood doesn't play by those rules. And it is possible that he was quite young when he decided upon his quest.

Why not just wait for the movie to come out instead of analyzing it to death and turning out more than likely to be wrong?

She's non cannon

canon ≠ cannon. Learn the difference and then return to the internet. I swear, if a spelling test were required for use of the internet, it would be a far more interesting place.

I don't think so because I think Luke would have learned the lesson from his father about having relationships and being a Jedi.
