Not really. Scientific theory is continually proven wrong and long held 'facts' are proven false upon further investigation. Science is further hampered by egotism, political agendas, and financial goals, which is compounded by the fact that mankind will never know everything there is - there will always be a planet they know nothing about, a star they never reached, an ocean they never explored. Hard to know if something is true when you can't comprehend or study it.
I don't think you know what you're talking about. At all. I'm a physicist, I model the electromagnetic interferences that modulate the gain of the optical path of submillimetric heterodyne radiotelescopes. You know why I do that? To reduce the uncertainty of our measurements by 5%. My job, combined with that of hundreds of other scientists, has contributed to the most accurate measurements in high-resolution astro-chemistry ever; these facts have allowed us to discard many hypotheses regarding star formation; that's science. I spent five years on my PhD: one to come up with a solution to the problem, four to attack it under every possible angle we (me and four other scientists from four different fields) could think of. We do not make unsubstantiated claims, it would be a professional suicide.
I know where my work is wrong: in my thesis, all my assumptions and simplifications are listed and their impact quantified. Feel free to take over.
Yep, just like you. The difference here is that niriel actually knows what the fuck they are talking about... and you all downvote like a bunch of monkeys throwing their shit at the zoo visitors.
I wish I could up vote you more than once, Niriel. These types of posts are ridiculous..but Funsubstance has turned into a place where people propagate stupid notions.

I think it's quite telling that Bernie was formerly quite outspoken against Superpacs, but now that there are several behind him, he's remarkably silent.
What slays me is that he has YouTube ads running *right now* that essentially say he's running on his money and your money, not "their" money... a bold faced lie.
It would also be nice if 2016 was the year that people stopped pushing bullshit pseudoscience in order to promote their political/philosophical worldview.
