What about an eagle or falcon? Just let it roam free and have a little slot in your home it can hop through at night.

Hermit crabs to be kept healthy need a lot of upkeep, they should be further up on effort.

I think cats are much less effort, they do most things themselves and don't need too much attention :)

snakes are really fun and don't really take a lot of effort, all u have to do is feed them like every other week and clean their cage when they shit.

yes, they poop out the rat fur and bones and stuff...the stuff they don't use.
