I swear people are trying to make something about race when it actually isnt they should be directing that energy toward actual social issues not a talent show
She's making a big deal because it's only been 2 years since a black person has been nominated. She's making it seem like a black person has never gotten nominated or won an Oscar in the last 10 to 20 years.
Unfortunately a bunch of people have turned racism into the equivalent of crying wolf. Real racism truly does exist and should be fought against, but when people cry racism at things that really aren't racism, they make everyone stop paying attention when the racism card is played. This means when it really is racism and people really could use help, half the country stops paying attention because they assume it's just another absurd use of the racism card.
WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE ARGUING ABOUT?!? I apologize for being a part of this dumb ass conversation to be honest, the only color we should be worried about right now is the color of Flint water...
I wanted to get into Gotham because I actually like Jada, I just couldn't get into the show, Idk. She did good in Hawthorne though, if you remember that show.
I'm not agreeing that the Oscars is racist, but this post is just cancer. We're talking about race and try to put in some offensive shit like making fun of her acting skills or including Jaden for no reason. You're talking about racism, stick to that and stop trying to roast
Finally someone said it. I'm pretty sure when people are voting or whatever, they aren't saying "oh they were great in this movie, but they're black so no nevermind." People like this need to get a fucking life
honestly, i'm tired of this. If you don't believe/agree with it, just move on instead of making it more popular than it already is. you're literally doing her a favor
What do nominations of 2002 and 2007 have to do with the pretty undeniable fact, that in 2015 and 2016 no black actor has been nominated? White far-fetching kids fetching far...
So your argument is, there was no black actor for two years who deserved a fucking NOMINATION? And all the non-black nominees deserved their nomination? Just curious...
To the guest who asked about white inclusion in the BET awards, the owner of BET is white and Eminem, Tina Marie, Robin Thicke and Sam Smith have all performed and won awards sooooo....
metalman: I don't give a shit actually, but here's my question to you: how do you rate the acting quality of an artist, is it a 1-10 scale? Is it a decision based on objective facts at all? Is it like in sports where you can measure performance in physical values? Because it seems when a clock or a measuring tape decide on the quality of a performance, blacks are somehow present. But not necessarily when a bunch of white men decide on whether they like shit or not,. Why is that? And if you answer: quality of performance, define it please. All I'm saying...
@nerddii9s I did not know that, thanks. I do not watch BET but I don't really watch any television. I don't know what it says, if it says anything at all, but I have noticed scanning the radio dial it seems every hip-hop station has white sounding DJ's. Just a random observation.
OSCARS 2002: History was made that night because.... It was the first time EVER that two people of color won an Oscar on the same night... How many times have at least two white people won on the same night...? How many times have white people been nominated for every category? ALL OF THEM!!!! Is it because they're better actors? who knows?!? At the end of the day, it's not about the rewards, it's about representation, why ask a black man to host a show, be funny, entertain all the white nominees? Blacks are still expected to shuck and jive but I will admit, we do it to ourselves by not sticking together as a people until we feel some great "injustice" and acting like ignorant uneducated clowns. Until the media, banks and police understand what black people understand, which is that there is a difference between the blacks and the "niggas," unfortunately, there is always gonna be a race issue.
No it's about ratio. There are a few more white actors than black, therefore, it stands to reason there would be more white actors winning awards than black.
Yes there is a difference between a black man and a nigger. There is a difference between a Latino man and a spic. There is a difference between a white man and a redneck. Sure there are bigots out there, but guess what; there are racist blacks too! We need to stop focusing on the relatively rare assholes in our society and just live our lives and treat each other like we want to be treated. If we'd just denounce the haters and then ignore them, I think we'd find racial issues would begin to take care of themselves.
I'm just kidding!!! Damn, settle down!
I don't think it's that wr describe ourselves as white or black, but rather that we THINK OF OURSELVES as white, black, whatever. We should be free to describe each other, but we should think of ourselves and our neighbors as "people".
... It was a joke, stating that I don't discriminate because I don't care what color my weed man is. Ya know, like that white couple who let their baby die because they didn't want the only qualified nurse in the room to touch the baby because she was black?
Fucking
Fired
Have you seen Gotham?!? She killed it in the first season.
