Bernie is the best! Now here comes the people who don't know what democratic socialism is! Aka a socialist-capitalist hybrid. Like what Scandinavia and Japan have. Aka some of the highest per capita (medium) income in the world, some of the highest levels of happiness, lowest rates of poverty, and highest rates of human development in the world. But no, because it just expands the socialist programs we already have in the US, like Medicare and education, its automatically ladled as "communism" and "socialism" even though democratic socialism is, again, A CAPITALIST -SOCIALIST HYBRID, LIKE WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE EXCEPT EXPANDED.
I'm pretty sure you are younger than I am... and yet you explained it in a beautiful way that I could follow. I almost flunked my social studies classes for a reason, you know, so thank you for simplifying it.

As far as I understand it, Sanders is trying to make America's system more like Europe's, which I think is a great thing
Quit bringing politics into an economics debate. It literally doesn't matter what you call it.
America's purchasing power parity is just as high as those of Scandinavian countries, Denmark has no minimum wage, it's easier to start businesses in those countries than it is in America, America has the highest corporate tax rate in the world. There are as many reasons to implement the policies those countries have adopted as there are to not implement them.

"highest business taxes in the world" and we also have a MASSIVE problem with cooperation's hiding BILLIONS of taxes In the Cayman Islands
Why the hell wouldn't they hide money other places? Apple has like 200 billion over seas they can't repatriate because they will get screwed when they do. The U.S is one of like 8 OECD countries that taxes money that has been earned and already taxed abroad.
