Yeah, not going to happen. If G-d asked me to slaughter my son, I would have to decline. (Abraham) In fact, G-d told the Jews to slaughter every man, woman and child in the promised land after the 40 years in the desert, and they declined.
Weird, as I understand it that only applies to Yahweh (or YHWH). Are they allowed to say things like "The Lord" and "Our Father"?
Actually I should probably direct that to rebel.
rebel, do you also censor those terms?

I'm of a Christian faith, and we don't use G-d's name in vain either.
stille20 is correct. We also don't say his name. Instead we tend to say HaShem which literally means "the name". And I don't know of any Jew who says Yahweh. I had never even heard the term until a Christian trying to convert me used the word.
"We also don't say his name."
That's somewhat strange, because that practice comes from the tradition that God's name can't be erased, so it shouldn't need to apply to speech.
Also that's definitely censoring the word, just like using f**k or s**t.
No, garlog. It is not censoring. It is writing the word in a way that is not forbidden. The questions you have need to be asked by a rabbi instead of assuming I'm wrong.
It's not a religious question, you're omitting the "o" in God because using the whole word is objectionable to you. That's literally censorship. Writing "fuck" as "f**k" can also be writing a word in a way that isn't forbidden. In that way it's the same thing.
The whole word is not objectionable to me. I am NOT offended when other people write it with the "o" like I AM offended when people use the f word on a public forum. Its just that I am personally not allowed to write the whole word. I'm sorry if you can't see the difference. Just like I am NOT offended when I see a girl in shorts, doesn't mean that I will wear shorts. It's against my religion to wear shorts. I am an Orthodox Jew and I dress modestly.
You're personally not allowed to write the word because your religion finds writing the word objectionable. I'm not sure why you're so angry, I'm not saying censoring the word is bad somehow.
I see. I didn't mean it in any antagonistic way. I only meant to point out that it is actually censorship, there was no judgment intended beyond you being wrong about that specifically.
She's not talking about Islam? Like Islam is some how different? You know people (still) kill in the name of Christianity right? Religion (including Islam) is at it's core peaceful, people just like to use faith to cover their questionable behavior and manipulate others.
My personal belief is that there is no god. I mean, yeah, it's nice to believe in something if it helps get you through the day, I won't raze you or anything for that.
But also, I believe that all the different strains of religion with one god are just worshiping the same god, just under different names. Yaweh, God, The Holy Father, they all seem pretty similar. The only difference is the messiahs they have. Moses, Jesus, and the works.
And, if you look at history, God, any aspect of him, is one of the leading causes of death throughout the world.
Actually I should probably direct that to rebel.

You don't know that.
