It's a great theory but can't work in practise. I don't think it's because people can't stand to be equal (although I'm sure that is also true in many cases) but because some people are able to contribute to society in more valuable /different ways than others. Example: Even if everyone had the means and opportunity, not everyone can be a doctor.
Plus, there would be almost no progress made, as in no newer and better technology because you no kind of benefit at all for being innovative, which would cause a lower living standard. Things would also work a lot slower because you get paid whether you do your job well or whether you do it poorly.
What the hell are you talking about? I'm talking about communism as an economic system. I did not state anything close to the "US government is a mini communism" even though that is not actually possible because again, socialism, communism, and capitalism are economic systems, not governmental systems.
I don't even understand why you think I would think that? The US has so many companies that are constantly spewing out new and better products in every industry.
@Witty username here, I think bethorien was anecdotally referencing that the U.S. government is a mini communism because the government isn't innovative and many things are stuck in the past (i.e. USPS) and that the government is slow because you get paid whether you do your job well or whether you do it poorly.
The person that said "it's a great theory but it can't work in practice" hit the nail on the head! Ludwig von Mises actually proposed a criticism of using economic planning as a substitute for market-based allocation of the factors of production called the economic calculation problem. In free market exchanges, prices reflect supply and demand and von Mises argued that outside of the free market pricing system there is no way to rationally and efficiently allocate resources in a society. If a public entity owned all the means of production, no rational prices could be obtained for goods because they were merely internal transfers of goods and not objects of exchange, unlike final goods.
Sorry for nerding out but I couldn't resist.
Wtf that's not even accurate, the one who is the capitalist is for sure Squidward he is an egocentric guy who doesn't care about other people. Spongebob is a free-minded Guy who can play with just a box and just use his imagination, he is always happy and doesn't care about money. And he would surely think that the gov should care about it's people and so on...
