Actually, I was talking to my psych teacher the other day and the term "neurotypical" is actually a word used in the field of psychology and not some made up tumblr bs
Common sense is basic logic built upon the foundations of experience, such as 'don't touch hot things, last time you did that it hurt.' How can that be offensive?
Because apparently now when people are not capable of making that simple connection they aren't stupid, they are "special"... And being more intelligent than this special people is offensive
What they mean is people often use the term "common sense" to mean "the way I do it" or " the way I think about it" and try to manipulate people into their personal way of thinking.
Do people just sit around all day waiting to be offended? So when truly offensive and damaging things are said, do they have more or less power do you think?
