I wouldn't have changed the eye from before simply because it looks super badass, unless it made me blind in that eye or something.

Its probably a glass eye dumbo. And he didn't jump on that grenade thinking "oh this is going to make melook badass" no he did it because "my friends are all going to die if i dont"
