Really? you are literally the only person who brought up the race. Everyone else just discussed her as a celebrity. And criticized her so what's your point ?
Ok, what about taylor swift who earned over 300 million last year, or Adam levine who earned 35 million. There is also RDJ who earned 80 million and Vin Diesel who earned 47 million. Its a problem everywhere
Who says it's OK she makes that much money? I think it's disgusting that some 'celebs' make such obscene amounts of money doing bugger all - the kardashian people things for example.
Because people are haters. They envy thise whi have more than they do. They rather blame the government, the system and or their boss before they blame themselves. They are naive in thinking its easier to change everything else but themselves. Welcome to the u.s.
I think this post is referencing the CEO to worker pay gap that many people cite as proof that executives are compensated too highly. While people deride companies whose CEOs make 10, 20, or 30 million, it seems like no one is going after performers, movie stars, or athletes.
Stupid people rarely realize the difference between feelings and fact. I find it odd how they think that a CEO making money affects their salary in any way whatsoever.
You’re absolutely right… let’s take McDonald’s as an example. According to the Christian Science Monitor in 2012, McDonald’s had the highest gap between CEO pay and worker pay in the nation with CEO Donald Thompson earning 1,196 times what the average worker earns. Thompson earns $9,247 an hour — compared to $7.73 for the average McDonald’s employee. In 2012, Thompson was compensated $13.8 million for his role as CEO.
So is it fair that Thompson earns in a single year that a McDonald’s employee would have to work nearly 900 years to earn? The answer certainly would be yes if Thompson could simply solve this problem by paying himself less, but that wouldn’t do much. McDonalds employs roughly 440,000 people (full time + part time). Even if Thompson decided to work pro bono and distribute his annual compensation among his workers, this would only translate to a $31.36 a year raise per employee – or less than a 1 cent an hour raise.
If you are a lowly paid worker and see a problem with you boss making tons more money, there is a simple solution. Quit your job and start your own company. Build it up from nothing, and make it successful.
Yea you do realize that for every celebrity there are HUNDREDS of workers: managers, or, audio technicians, photoshoppers, magazine designers, etc etc. Every celebrity is actually just a high paied mascot of a 'company' they represent. Stop commenting until you stop living in a fantasy world where your idols have the success they have based on their own work alone.
But seriously, folks... There has never been any school of economists who believed in a trickle down theory. No such theory can be found in even the most voluminous and learned books on the history of economics. It is a straw man.
