I've always referred to it as punctuation since a period is normally used. I really don't know what else you could call it.

Why would you number them instead of just using dashes, or just writing them in a column? I would have done the same.

I showed my husband this and I had to explain to him what was wrong lmfao. He said "Don't ever do that to me cause I would end up doing the same thing." lol But he admits he would of just bought a dozen eggs lol

Yes.. my mother n I does it all the time. It helps you to check how many items you should buy so nothing is left forgotten.
