Assembly's were horrid. You had to wait to go to the loo and hold it in. "You should have gone before".

Haha, in my old public elementary school we used those. After I moved, my other elementary school had smart-boards.

American public (in my middle school mainly, idk about y'all) school life: (at the start of school) stand up, say pledge of alliegence, school pledge, like 3 other things, listen to announcements, watch school news on the smartboard (aka the glorified projector screen) for like 5 min, finally sit back down.

At my schools we only did the pledges standing and you aren't required to say them just stand for them (Texas has it's own pledge) all the other stuff we could sit down.
