We had a guy who would do none of his work and only read books in class and so he eventually got in trouble for it and wasn't aloud to read in class anymore.
me too, reading a book means that you are not focused on what you are doing. the rest of the class could have been doing class work or listing to music which is allowed.
To be fair, you were probably supposed to be doing an assignment. Reading a book doesn't excuse you from not doing your schoolwork.
Unless everybody else was just dicking around on their phones, in which case I'd say your teacher's a prick.
I know that feeling. Our English teacher is slower than the sloths from Zootopia (haven't seen the movie just making references to the trailer no spoilers pretty please), so she always gives us 10 minutes for an assignment that can be finished in 30 seconds, or even completely improvised if you have some skill and knowledge. But when she catches me reading a book for another class, she has a huge problem with it. Nevermind that 80% of the rest of the class is dicking around on their phones, tablets or notebooks.
Once I got moved to the saferoom when I was 13 because I was reading a book that was nothing to do with the lesson cos the teacher was always a bitch to me, and after the book was taken away from me, I eventually was told to go to the saferoom because I wouldn't talk to the teacher or tell her my name (some other student did). You should have seen the saferoom teacher's face when I told him I was sent there for 'reading a book' and I had to write an apology note. No bs, it said 'sorry for reading a book'.
You weren't just reading a book. You were sent there because 1) you were reading a book that had *nothing to do with the lesson*. 2) refused to tell the teacher your name. And you also said that you were doing it because the teach we r was always a bitch to you, so you were doing it in spite. So don't try to say it was for just reading a book like you were doing what you were supposed to be doing.
It was caused because of your actions because you felt wronged. You know your not completely innocent that's why you've become hostile and defensive. It wasn't like you were a model student and got sent for no other reason than reading a book it was because of your insubordination
Yeah I know lol. Anyway she was still my citizenship teacher for the next year, and I think she was alright that time, I didn't get in as much trouble as I did.
That's part of the problem once you cause trouble for some teachers they hold a grudge which they shouldn't. And I know there are some teachers who just shouldn't be teachers
My friend was once told by her *english teacher* that she wasn't allowed to read, even though all of her work had been done a for a while. He legit told her she couldn't do anything except stare at the wall, not even put her head down, work on other hw or read.
I used to get in trouble in m Spanish 1 class for reading. She would put up warm ups to do, and I would finish them in a minute or two out of the ten minutes she gave us. I wasn't on my phone looking up answers or being loud and obnoxious like a couple other students. I would silently read until she went over the warm-up, but she'd still be pissed at me
