I mean it's still art, an artist sat down and made it after all, even if it's mass produced. Really the difference in price is often how well known the artist is. Fame equals a higher price tag.

Looking at this again, of course they're going to talk up its value. It's in a modern gallery and they've been lead to believe it's worth a lot/well known, so their answers aren't surprising.
