parted it to the pink side and only dyed the top layer, so for the black side you can just brush the black back over and cover the pink

I'm unable to reply to the guest's comment but there isn't a damn thing wrong with dying your hair. Mine has been quite a few different colors. I'd do this in a heartbeat.

I don't know how reliable it is but there's an android app that lets you upload a pic and "try on" different hair colors. You could probably Google temp hair color and find something that could easily wash out after a few times.
