Yeah because the worst insult you can give on tumblr is just unfollowing someone or writing them an angry message. On FS everyone sees everything and this makes a weird uniformity.
Every social media site has its bad parts. Reddit, 4chan, tumblr, facebook, instagram, twitter, it doesn't really matter what site you're on. Stupid people will always be there.
The thing about tumblr is that it genuinely seems like a happy place. I don't understand what in particular makes tumblr such a terrible place compared to other social media.
The fandoms can be pretty shitty at times, though I don't have as much experience with this as others have, as I tend to stay away from fandoms in general.
ah yes i "cherry-picked" these posts. it took me an entire 4 minutes to find all this and the only reason it took that long is because of all the awesome fanart on my dashboard.
But I can understand why some dislike tumblr. Remember the time when tumblr shipped the Onceler with himself or when they made a human version of the clock and sketchbook from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared and shipped them together? Or when the Steven Universe fandom made fake reviews on that one motel? Or the whole SuperWhoLock fandom in general.
You idiot, just avoid those people and you'll be fine. They're assholes for sure but if you *gasp* don't follow those blogs they'll never show up on your dashboard. Mind = Blown. There's no reason to hate on the whole of Tumblr just because of one section that's bad.
Hon, there's so much on tumblr that even if these people made up the majority (which isn't true) you could browse your particular area of tumblr without EVER seeing a post like that
It's not the same argument. If the ONLY place you are seeing SWJs is the comment section, then all you need to do is avoid the comment section. Because it happens online, it is much easier to avoid than rape. Rape is completely different, with each one occurring for various reasons. There's no surefire way to prevent rape.
