She looks too young, regardless of how old she is. Getting annoyed at how characters are originally presented being just thrown away for younger, prettier actors
I get why they complain. Aunt may was always older looking. But it is not unrealistic. Even if she is in her 40s. This spiderman is really young and she is not the mom anyways. Plus, it was fun to see her an RDJ together again
I don't get the problem. She an Aunt to a high school kid. That means as old as his mother was. Which means late 30s- early 40s. And if you actually pay attention she DEFINITELY looks that old. You can see her wrinkles in the movie. Don't get me wrong, she's still gorgeous, but she LOOKS like a mom should. She definitely doesn't look like a 20 year old. I never got the whole old as shit thing. Most people don't have their kids when they're 60.
She bathes in the tears of those that cry that she's too, young looking to be Aunt May. Oh and I liked how they even played it out in the movie that she "looked to young to be his aunt".
What the fuck does crime have to do with this? Aunt May is a preestablished character who looks a certain way. Having an actor who doesn't look that certain way portray her can be considered poor casting. What are you not understanding?
The writers and producers are allowed to take certain liberties when it comes to casting, iris west and her family were not initially black but the cw show makes it work, if the actor is a good fit for the character they are trying to portray it doesn't matter what the comic book counter part looks like. These movies are somewhat based on the comics but they are in itself a different universe. The actress who played aunt may did a great job, and I expect great things from her, who gives a shit if she doesn't look like she's about to keel over, maybe that want her to last more than 3 movies.
"who gives a shit if she doesn't look like she's about to keel over"
A fair number of people, based on the amount of complaints about it. What's your point?
To an extent they should care, but to age variance? No not really, if they completely changed what the character stood for , than sure get up in arms, but there have been great characters in both tv and movies that have stood out and been great even though they looked very different from their counterpart, and some have looked exactly like the comic book character and have been awful for the part. I'm Just saying give it a chance, so far she's great as aunt may, will that change with the Spider-Man movie? We will see
That's still not a reason to completely dismiss people that have a problem with the way she looks. Sure it's probably an overreaction to call for her to be recast at this point, but that doesn't mean it's unreasonable to not like her looking significantly different than the source material.
How would I not dismiss someone who is really getting furious about who is playing an adapted comic figure in an entertainment movie? For some people it seems the entire world, including politics, art and pop culture, has been frozen in at some random point in the past and then they are offended the rest of the world keeps moving on. Nobody needs those people...
Your post is saying you dismiss those people based on them getting angry, and then some baseless shit about them being stuck in the past. Unless it's your time travel theory that you don't like, in which case that was not made clear.
You're kind of desperate to engage me in an argument, aren't you? You of all people here should shut ya mush when it comes to stating unwanted opinions.
Wow. Guys. It is just a movie. They had many with an older looking aunt. Now they don't this weekend another movie people can hate on will come out ... so let it go have a nice weekend
"You're kind of desperate to engage me in an argument, aren't you?"
I was trying to be funny, but it fell flat. You're the one who interjected for no reason.
"You of all people here should shut ya mush when it comes to stating unwanted opinions."
Nah.
"so let it go have a nice weekend"

You're the one who introduced the qualifier of "wanted". I'm just asking you according your rules.
In reality it's not a relevant concept here, as people are expected to post their opinions about the picture in the comments.
Nah, man, comment wherever you want, I would just prefer that your comments have some substance, like an argument that isn't "people in the past think like that, so it's obviously wrong."
Are there any pics of her made up as Aunt May? Maybe people should wait until they lose their shit. What annoys me sooo much more are all the mid 30 women playing teenagers on TV and in movies, seriously, wtf...
What is your secret you immortal beautiful creature!?
They just wanted to have marissa and RDJ in a flirty scene I think. And it was cute. 90s reference
