Abortions are fine, guns are eh. But hell yes I'm following for the hell that's about to be unleashed from the FS users who are also apparently from Tumblr.
This is just my personal opinion, but I think that making abortion illegal would be choosing the lives of the unborn over the lives of the living. I posted that on whisper and someone responded "but what if I called you a murderer?" And I was just like... I'm not the one... Getting the abortion... Who have I killed?

No that's a good thought and a lot of people don't consider it
And having abortions be illegal would just push it underground and make the procedure much more dangerous. Also I'd like to point out that until about 22 weeks the fetus literally feels no pain because the nervous system isn't developed. After 22 weeks/3rd trimester/viability is a different debate and a legitament one but arguing about pre-any of those is kinda stupid.
I think if it has to be done, it should only be done if it needs to be (life of the mother in danger, she was raped, etc) and needs to be early on, nothing like those third trimester (although illegal they still happen, sadly) abortions. Honestly, I still consider it killing your own child no matter how small or early-on it may be in development and nothing makes that 100% okay, however sometimes it puts the mother in (talking legitamate danger here, not just "oh I don't want a kid anymore") danger and that's never okay either.

But lokihasthephonebox, that's your opinion alone, not all women share that view and it's their right over their own body to determine what to do with an unwanted pregnancy. I do believe as a woman you should do all you can to prevent a pregnancy, as it is your responsibility. A man can walk away, you cant.
lokihasthephonebox, I see your point and indeed, as jamborii said, it is purely a matter of opinion, so I'll put my two cents in. We've already settled abortions in case of rape and foetal damage, but let's also imagine the stereotypical scenario for a woman who got accidentaly pregnant - I'm sure you'll all imagine a teenager who got knocked up at a party, or maybe a junkie who swapped her birth control pills for ectasy. Would you like a child to grow up in these conditions, and later lead a life like its parents? I know I wouldn't, purely for the sake of the child. Sure, you may say that a child is a responsibility, and that they should've been more responsible and pregnancy is their "punishment", and in all other cases I'd agree that one has to bear the burden of his/her choices, but this is a human life we're talking about. More specifically, a horrible life vs a blissful, painless (up to 3rd month or so) death. This is why I think abortions are okay.

And the man is never the one who has to directly deal with that problem
The man can however get sued into paying aliments, if it's 100% sure that he's the father. It's a problem on both sides, but biologically it is indeed more of a women's thing to deal with.
This is exactly the reason why I frighten the Democrats and the Republicans won't talk to me.
I want 100% unadulterated equal rights for citizens REGARDLESS of gender, culture, orientation, identification or affiliation... then I want to arm all of them.
Unless I'm completely wrong about how America would go about gun control, I'm fairly sure you could still purchase a firearm. It'll just be a more complex and safer system.
You are completely wrong. The left is trying to make firearms as expensive and impractical as possible, and they will have them outlawed entirely if given the chance.
Famousone speaks truth. Pelosi, Schumer, Obama and most of the federal and state reps from NYC. A rep from NYC even tried to outlaw machetes in our state.
Ahh I see. Banning something is extreme to me. I can see having regulations on certain things in certain places though. for example no machetes on the subway but no they want to go to the extreme of banning something that is a tool, that can be used as a weapon
The vast majority of the the left wing, liberals or Democrats depending on what you want to call them have it fixed in their head that "those laws were written during game a different time, citizens don't need guns anymore."
This is dangerous thinking that is a prelude to a dictatorship... compounded by the fact that the people that support disarmament have been convinced that it is for their own good. Yet another example of liberals believing that every aspect of your life needs to be regulated and legislated, rather than them treating you like a damned adult that knows how to conduct your own business in life.
yes because here in australia where we have safe gun laws theres lots of school shootings
oh wait the last one we had was in a university in 2002
I FUCKING wonder why
Lenny, you seem to get wound up and emotional too fast. Good thing you are prohibited by a self appointed ruling class from owning weapons. Trust them, it's for your own safety.
Exactly how I feel being socially liberal but fiscally conservative (and no I'm not deluded enough to think an alternate party/independent would win a presidential election, otherwise we'd have a better third option than write in right now).
If you are 100% in Democrat or Republican, I question your ability to think for yourself. We should be able two have differences of opinion without vilifying the other party.
