Epic kitchen fail

I mean, there had to be some sort of liquid inside. Plus, what did they do to make the release valve fail so catastrophically?

They do occasionally fail, usually because they are damaged or not cleaned between uses, the lack of splash damage could mean the cooker was boiled dry or under such high pressures that the liquid flash evaporated as soon as the seal broke.

The extent of my culinary expertise is boiling water for spaghetti or pushing start on the microwave. Cooking just sounds too dangerous!

Not many people use pressure cookers. Other than those, cooking is relatively safe. Just follow a recipe. If you passed chemistry, you can at least bake a quiche.

Chemistry? Yeah I better stick to pasketti!

Cooking is fun and largely safe, I won't use a pressure cooker though.
