If I was going to even just vist another country I would atleast learn enough of the language to have polite conversations with the locals. And I would also learn how they act in public. Because each country acts differently to each other. Some act as we do. But some are more strict or have rules like no eating with a certain hand or no showing the bottom of your feet.
And I honestly hope others would do the same.
That's abundantly clear. Then there are those that get upset when you joke about just about anything. Dark irreverent humor is the most fun. The sooner people figure that out the sooner they can laugh at this world more. It's nay called serious substance.
Seriously though, i hate it when a customer cones into the store and I say, "Hello, welcome to ______, How can I help you?" and they respond in their native tongue. Unless they're asking if I speak their language. Like, if I greet them and they ask, "Hablas Espanol?", then that's ok, but if they just start ordering a bunch of shit without even making sure I speak spanish I get a little a little annoyed.
I could say the same about English speaking patients where I work. More often than not, I'm completely ignored when I introduce myself. Not only by the patients, either, but their families and visitors, as well.
And then there are the ones that are immersed in their phones.
People are just rude and selfish all around. Race, language, religion, etc only come into the picture when some asshole wants some easy political brownie points. And we all just can't help but to play right into their hands, can we?
