Oh, I know. At one point the HS I went to considered installing them woth our regular florescent lights, like 1 in ever 4 or something, but decided against it because it became to expensive
Not all liberals are like that! I think you should go get a background check and get training (sort of like a drivers license) but you should be able to go buy guns! Assault weapons, however should not be allowed in homes as this creates an ovbviois risk kf mass shooting
But you can just buy one I think you should have to earn it. Also there is little to know background check process. The Orlando shooter would have never been able to buy a gun had there been a background check (ISIS sympathizer/no fly list)
Notsa- there is NICS check every time you purchase from a dealer. The info I read said he was NOT on a no fly list. Most states require you have a permit and take a class to get a CCW permit.
In Minnesota you need to either have a permit to purchase or a CCW permit to purchase a pistol or rifle. Shotguns and .22s only require background checks. I own multiple AR15s and am sick of being vilified by the media. I have gone through a background check for every firearm I have purchased and am a responsible owner.
They need tighter background checks. Certain mental illnesses should exclude purchasing. If you have been investigated for terrorist connections there should be a waiting period at least before you can go out and buy a semiautomatic
If they were diagnosed with something like schizophrenia then they should be added to a database for that sole purpose, one that cannot be made public but will flag if they attempt to purchase a gun.
Guest, I am 100% for responsible gun owners, but background checks are necessary to FIND respinsinsible owners. Poke, I just think the background check needs to be more thorough, because he was a known ISIS sympathizer, and he pledged his allegiance to ISIS just before purchacing a glock pistol...

Guns are not inherently bad, it's the people that use the guns. If Sarah likes to collect antique guns and has some assault rifles that I know aren't loaded and I know she bought legally to hang on her wall, I don't give two fucks. Like the post says, all this will do is tell people scoping out houses that even if you're home you probably have a bat or kitchen knife at best.
Mayflower, I know people kill people. The goal is to keep a lethal weapon away from bad people. A more accurate statement would be, "people with guns kill people"
Yep, so keep guns away from 'em. Do you really think I'm mad at the guns for the Orlando shooting? No, only idiots would be

I agree fully, I just didn't elaborate I guess. I just don't like all this gun fear. I understand because nobody ever mowed down a room of people with a knife, but like you said it's the person not the weapon.
What about those angel of death types? They can murder many times over that of a shooting spree using only poison or even their bare hands. People kill using whatever they have access to, murder will not disappear because guns do.
Murder will definitely decrease if the amount of guns do. Do you think that one man would stand a chance in a nightclub of 103 people? There would be 1 or 2 injuries, but the nightclub members would easily overpower that one man. Those angel of death types are trained assassins. Most common murderers are NOT trained assassins
If no one had a gun, there would be no injuries or deaths! Are you really trying to prove that a PROVEN ISIS SYMPATHIZER should be carrying a GLOCK around?
Dude, people who want to kill someone will find a way. Somebody who wants to execute a mass shooting will find a way, it doesn't matter if guns are illegal. In France, a place where guns are illegal, they killed 109 people, explain how banning guns helped in that situation.
You are taking very rare examples. Like you are talking about assassins, and ONE case in france. My cases happen almost every day. Doesnt even have to be a mass killing, just one person dying from guns may have not happened if the killer didnt have one
Im going to put forth a hypothetical situation that I put forth to Badwolf. Imagine a country, where only police and military personnel are allowed to have guns. Civilian owned weapons are illegal. A man, or woman, illegally purchases a Ruger mini-14 and five 30-round magazines. He then proceeds to walk into a crowded noghtclub and just starts offing people, left and right. Now, let's just assume police response time is fifteen minutes, at best. How many people would die in that time? 100? 150?
Now, imagine a different country. One where every citizen is required by law to own a firearm, and can, though it isn't required, carry it wherever they go. Now, same situation, only now the person has their gun legally. They go into a nightclub and start killing. How many people die before someone pulls out a gun and fucking drops him like an elk? Probably ten, at most?
And if the sane people have guns at the same time as the insane people, fewer people will die when the insane ones go on a rampage. Whereas if guns are illegal, the insane ones will just buy their guns illegally, while the sane ones are defenseless.
I'm not for outlawing guns. I think you need a background check and a liscense (an earned liscense not a bought one) and if criminals buy one illegaly, then at least we did all we could to stop them. At lesst try to keep them out of criminals' hands
We already do background checks, that's what the twenty one day waiting period is for.... That and preventing people who want to buy a gun for some sort of spur of the moment killing. Like, they catch their SO in bed with someone else, and so go to the nearest gun store, the twenty day waiting period lets them cool off... Although if they really wanted to murder they would probably use a knife. Also, most metropolitan areas require a permit to carry on your person, and all States require a concealed carry permit. I do love Texas though, because you can carry a rifle on your back, or a pistol at your hip, and no body can tell you that you can't. Still need a permit for concealed carry, though.
