As a sentiment this is great, but as a practicality this is foolish and impossible to expect. I tried to put at least one of the reasons this true here as an example but there are really too many and most of them require too much explaining. Simply put what you would get is everything closing about when you get off work. So essentially when you want or are able to do something ie. go shopping, eat out, whatever, there would be nothing open for you to do so. In reality, whether you realize it or not, what you really want is for you to only have to work 6 hrs a day but still have all the amenities and services that exist with a workday consisting of more than 6 hrs. Hence my first sentence.
People like this OP are why the US government handouts are out of control. If you wanna work 6, great! Go for it. But if you cant fund the lifestyle you desire you better not covet everyone elses hard work and earnings to pay for it.
In Norway it is common to work 6 to 7 hrs a day at most. The economy does well, people have time to see friends and family and are happy.
It is not as crazy of an idea as it sounds. It can work.
