I have to take a different look at this, he should have been taught respect from his parents to put your device away in certain situations. Kids won't even know better if not taught so.
What if he has Autism, music is the one thing that calms him, and the grandmother is just wishing he didn't have to struggle with this disability.
Or, he's just showing his grandmother how to use the phone to play the music she use to listen to as a child.
Or, she's holding him for ransom and telling him to text his parents, "It's $500,000 by tomorrow at 7pm or you'll never see your little shit again."
Who knows the situation?
I agree. He's not just looking at his phone. He has headphones on too. This doesn't look like a simple case of disrespect...also that last one made me laugh really hard... maybe she's working for Moriarty and he texting Sherlock..
Yeah the headphones not fully being on his ears says to me that this may not a classic case of ignore your meema. And she could just have said, "Brian, my ears are fucked and I can't hear my music. Would you be a kind little shit and fix it so I can hear when the beat drops?"
And he's all like, "I'm not Brian, but I'll help you because I had a meema once, but I ignored her and she evaporated."

I like how everyone has suddenly adapted to him being called "little shit" Like it's his name
He needs a slap in the face!!!! Seriously! Spend time with your loved ones as much as you can, especially if they're older! You may have all the time in the world, but they don't. If you don't do this you'll regret it later on. Trust me. I know.
