NO LITERALLY THIS SHIT IS TRUE! As soon as Flag Day comes around, Literally fireworks and grill ads, and all that freedom shit gets sold in stores. Then, like three weeks after July 4th, It's over. Like it didn't even happen.

There are already firework stands up all over town, and I live in the friggin desert where fires pop up randomly. Yeah, let's just throw a few mild explosives into the mix.

Do you guys have those special firework stores? We have tons of them and I've always wondered how they stay in business despite only being open for 1 month out of the year

They usually share the space on limited leases with the same people who run the Halloween stores and Christmas stores so they are only pay a few months at a time.

Maybe but out in the more country side area we have 6 of them and they are these hugs stores that don't share with Christmas or Halloween. I've found that Texas has a heck of a lot of stores like this

I know the one out where I lived (Tomball) they shared space with a Halloween store for about 3 months, but the rest of the year it was ALL EXPLOSIVES ALL THE TIME

In grassland areas they tend to put limits on when they're allowed to sell fireworks

In Missouri there's a year round fireworks store. Don't know if that's a thing all over the state, I just know that one from visiting

In New Jersey they are illegal, so much more fun. It's like an easy way to call the cops

I live in Utah. They celebrate on July 24th also (its a Mormon holiday). Which means we get to hear the Damn fireworks all the way into August.

Yup, they started setting off fireworks in my neighborhood on Sunday, and probably won't stop for weeks.

The fun part is playing Was That A Gunshot or A Firework? So much fun *twitches*

Okay, so! Apparently my city has cameras that have recently had audio updates so they can actually identify gunshots and try to snap pictures. Sort of like red light cameras for gunshots. But they have issues differentiating, so fireworks keep setting them off too. So a computer may beat man at Chess, but not at Gunshot Or Firework.

I've always heard gunshots echo but fireworks don't. Personally I have heard both and its still hard to distinguish.

I've also heard both and also heard that that's complete bullshit. Soooo yeah we still were wondering if we heard a gunshot or firework the other day. I don't know why our neighbors would go and shoot just one single loud firework though
