Fair enough, but I get the feeling that it'd be more realistic to create stigma than to encourage responsibility.
Simply because a lot of people sleeping around aren't exactly responsible.
It's hard to create a stigma from something that's been toted around as "positive" for so long. Guys who sleep around are rarely ever called sluts, rather, they're considered lucky or masculine.
But there's another problem, which is another stigma associated with sleeping around. That problem is virginity. People care too much about whether their partner has had sex before or not. Naturally, this can cause issues with those who were raped or molested at some point in their life. Moreover, even if it's consensual sex, there shouldn't be anything wrong with having previous relationships that broke off. Sure, having lots of sex for the sake of sex can be irresponsible, but putting stigma there won't change the other stigma that's in place.
If I find out someone I'm interested in has slept with many people, I'll lose interest. Not because of religion or any societal standard, but simply because being with many people without forming an emotional bond may indicate emotional instability, or an inability to have real feelings for another person altogether. Sociopathy, if you will.
. You can't compare eating cherios to having sex with people. People cant have intimate connections with cherios, like you could with people. C'mon john
this is one of the dumbest analogies i have ever read. i don't know about you but if my cereal had 30 dicks in it, i know i wouldn't eat it. and if i put my dick in 30 bowls of cereal i am sure that would be a problem too.
Everybody here: It's such a great analogy. It SHOULDN'T matter how many people you've had sex with.
Extending the analogy further: Cheerios shouldn't care if you eat something else for lunch and supper...but imagine the FS culture's reaction if you floatd the idea that it's OK to **** around on your "long term partner." If it doesn't matter before, why does it matter so much after?
I'm staying faithful to my future wife, even though I may not have even met her yet. Apparently I'm completely out of touch.
"Girls don't like me, so maybe if I go way over the top on how life is unfair for girls, some will look at me positively and finally some will start to like me. Also, I'll make big points with other beta cuckolds, but mainly I want to connect with girls by being even more sympathetic than even other girls."
Calling someone a beta cuckold devaluates your whole point. Not that there was one to begin with in your comment. But if there was, it'd be devaluated by now.
Making up a word like "devaluate" both devalues and invalidates your point. Not that there was one to begin with, since you apparently don't see a difference between name calling and correctly categorizing someone as a person who would jump to an extreme viewpoint (and feel obligated to articulate it) in order to signal his virtue.
Devaluate is a term recognized by the dictionary. Beta cuckold, on the other hand, is not.
So calling someone a beta cuck based on one of their opinions is just "correctly categorizing" them now? Well then, I "correctly categorize" you as a bigoted asshole and if you get offended by that and suggest that it's an ad hominem, I'll "correctly categorize" you as a triggered snowflake too.
