Smell that brings back memories

Is there a name for this? I get this feeling all the time

Smell is the sense that is most tied to memory. Thats why this happens.

Everytime i catch the smell if perfume i wore to the school farewell i just go deep into depressed state
"Wow what a sad guy i was"

Sometimes a certain smell will take me back to when I was young,
How come I'm never able to identify where it's coming from,
I'd make a candle out of it if I ever found it

This happened to me just yesterday.

When you catch the scent of the old spice that one douchebag wore.

I curious if anyone has a memory tied to this one:

Smelling mediocre scrambled eggs and sausage really, really early in the morning while you're outdoors.

Every time I taste (I don't really know what it is, I just get this taste in my mouth out of nowhere) I remember the glee from when I was 3 and hit my best friend with a plastic dinosaur until he cried
(I was a lovely child)

That happened to me; I remembered a day in third grade. At 17, I found out that scent was marijuana

Perhaps it has something to do with Synesthesia?

Mine is my boyfriend from high schools laundry detergent. I have no idea why. We didn't even date that long, but I've smelled it a couple of times and it just always makes me think of him. Idk why!

Girls. I have this with girls. Perfumes... It can turns me on or off, depends of the ex, not of the actual girl.
I also have it, quite different with music. I have music for moments in my life and it's kind of... strange.
