^^^ this. All the healthy, organic, nutritious food is way more costly than $2 snacks at the store or a couple things off the McDonalds dollar menu. When you dont have a lot of money, nutritious food may too expensive and you may find yourself eating affordable, yet fattening foods instead
I just want to put it out there that healthy food doesn't always cost more. It's more work and takes planning but it's possible to eat well on a low income. Eating a pot of brown rice and beans with a side of banana or frozen veggies is cheaper than eating a couple items off the dollar menu in the long run. It's not glamorous but it's possible. That being said it really has to be important to you because like geluregis said cooking takes time and on top of that planning healthy affordable meals takes even more.
Just so's ya all know,
I am not what you would call obese, however, I am not thin. I was a little bigger a few years ago, and I had a lot of problems about that. I stopped eating except for minor snacks for maybe 15 months. I only lost 3 pounds. The point I'm trying make here is that you don't simply loose weight from not eating.
You actually do but the thing is you made drastic changes to your diet so your body compensated by releasing a shit storm of hormones to try and protect what it had stored. Thats why they tell you to change your intake by around 300 calories lol.
I was in the hospital because I was so sick I couldn't keep anything down, but I'm also on the large side so the doctors just gave me a saline drip for sustenance. Five days later I was discharged and was almost 10 pounds lighter. Don't tell me not eating won't make you lose weight.
Pretty sure what you lost due to that was water weight, glycogen, a bit of muscle mass, and some calcium deficiency, which is kinda unhealthy in that sense. In your normal saline drip line, there are no nutrients for your body.
You do realise that a saline drip is just barely salty water. I was never thirsty, I was not dehydrated, it was fat plain and simple. I was also given vitamins among the multitude of shots I was given as I was in for a palsy attack and they were afraid that the medicine would interfere with normal vitamin absorption. So there goes your theory. I had to get my sister to give me her belt, my pants were so lose when I was let go, because an absence of calories will force the burning of fat for energy, plain and simple.
Have you considered researching it? Half of what you said is true. The other half? Not so much. I'm having a hard time believing your story when there is a boatload of research that goes against what you are saying. I'm sorry to hear about the attack. Was there any permanentry damage?
1. Her situation could be a more recent thing.
2. Starvation often causes bloating. If she was a little heavy before she hit hard times, she could have grown larger.
Ya know, some people are naturally heftier. They generally have a low metabolism. Not saying whether this shit is true or not, but c'mon. Think things through before you start typing.
