The most I've seen people get cranky about is the writing. I don't actually think the script is that bad, but even if it were, four fantastic comedians carrying a mediocre plot is very much in the spirit of the original to start with.

I thought it was very funny, and the plot was good too. Not a copy of the original really.
One trailer features for adult ladies in overalls. One features a young girl in a bathing suit. The comment is just dumb and pointless. Fits the nickname though...
That's not a fair comparison because Wonderwoman is supposed to be a woman. They did not change gender. Would people still be hyped for it if it was Wonderman?
So the ghostbusters "are supposed to be" men? You know it was fiction in the first place, right? And to answer your question: that would be Superman, and yes, there appears to be a hype. .
It's more that the original ghostbusters movies had a male cast, and superman really is not a male wonder woman, he is his own thing that hasn't changed gender and is different to Wonder Woman.
Uhm... *sigh*... yes... still: that's all fiction, as in "not actually happening". And the Ghostbusters didn't change genders. In the old movies the parts were written for men and played by men. In the new movie, the parts were written for women and played by women.
No, actually it is hated on because a good movie that needed no revamp was recreated in a terrible way. The cast would not have mattered, it would have been just as bad of a movie
...maybe when it comes to dvd
