Actually, "lucifer" is the Latin vulgate's translation of a term used in Isaiah. Originally it meant "shining one" and didn't have anything to do with Satan. Isaiah was refering the king of Babylon.

Actually, Lucifer got cast out of heaven because he opposed God and thought that he was better than God. God obviously didn't like this so cast him out, it wasn't because God wanted him to love humanity. If you read the bible it says that he got cast out sometime between the making of the angels and when he tempted Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.

Well in Islam lucifer was thrown out (everything mentioned applies) because God asked him to bow down before Adam which he refused to, which metaphorically speaking is exactly that.. Refused to love humanity and acknowledge god's power.

Sorry, I was talking about in Christianity; I should have made that clear.

Christianity and Islam (and Judaismm) is based on the same "people", so it's the same, as guest here mentioned.

Yes, but it is written differently and the stories are different in many religions, which is why I said Bible in my comment and not just religion.

I know, I agree with you :-) I thought it seemed as if you didn't think it was right when the guest mentioned islam, because it was too different to compare - that's why I "explained" it. It is of course not exactly the same, but the basis of it is. Maybe I just misjudged your first reply.

Yeah I think you just misjudged it. I wasn't saying that what guest said wasn't valid, I was just clarifying that I was talking about in the christian sense of the story. And how my bad because I should have made it clearer. But whatever, forgive and forget.
