It's probably because as a child she still physically and mentally clings to and relies on her parents. Someone should write an epilogue where the girl is older and gets payback.

Yeah, when the mother is sitting in a wheelchair or something. Because well, with a wheelchair, she isn't 'perfect' anyway (after her definition)
