We can track it far enough, but if it decides to maul you instead, you'd be in bad shape.

Another one of our primary strengths is adaptability. Is it cold? No prob, wrap yourself in the hides of your prey. Is it too hot? Go ahead and shed some layers. Does your prey have a thick, impenetrable hide? Make a longer, sharper spear. Also, when we aren't inundated with the creature comforts of our modern society our sense of hearing is much better than we give ourselves credit for.

Wolves are way better at the endurance running thing. Basically, we're just a brain on legs.

Well, if you believe in persistence hunting, humans are still quite terrifying. Being a brain on legs works then.

We can track even after they've run away.

I don't know... A guy named Yiannis Kouros ran over 188 miles in 24 hours.
