Smart cars are actually very good in a crash. it's the assholes that think it's ok to drive a truck or a suv everywhere that are the problem. Because instead of hitting the bumper bar like they should they just run over the lower car. That only makes them safer buy putting every one else at risk. If one were to hit a tree or a pole it would do much much worse then a smart car or any other car for that matter because trucks and suvs are not designed in any way to be safe.
